Why We Give To God
“You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. “(Deuteronomy 8:17-18)
God knows the power of a gift because He is the first giver. He has graciously blessed us not only with life but also with salvation through the gift of His Only Son Jesus.
He wants every gift to be given from one’s own heart. He gives us the blessing of being able to work, earn, save, spend, and accrue wealth. We give to honor God as faithful stewards, and as stewards, we cheerfully worship God by giving back to him from the many blessings that He has blessed us with.
